I just remembered I had a blog here.

1 week has passed since my A levels has ended. The nightmares were relentless, often entering my dreams and causing me much distress the next day. Occasionally, but not too often, I'll be troubled by my A levels results. Deep down, I know theres little place for luck when I was not properly prepared for it.

All I hope for is to be retained, or at best, enter a local university. Dont leave me hanging there, with neither place to go. It would just screw up my life so badly, thanks to the syllabus change. Practicals will need to be retaken, tuition fees might add burden to my family's income, and being a year slower than my other pals who will advance into the university after my NS.

Oh yes, NS. I may not even apply for deferment and that will screw me up totally. I mean, after 2 years, how do someone with little discipline find the will to study. I would have forgotten most of my JC syllabus. Life seems to be bleak for me.

Oh but I'm not exactly complaining. I brought it upon myself, and theres little point whining. (Opps I think I just did it again) I just hope the fates will be nicer to me, and all I'm asking is to allow me to fail.

There is little point in retaining people who fail badly, isn't it? It just means they didn't bother putting in the effort for the examinations. For those people who can go neither here nor there, at least they put in more effort than those who failed badly. So why should those who put in the slightly more effort not be able to retain? I don't see the rationale behind it.

I'm leaving for LA, and leaving my worries behind for the 2 weeks.

Absolute LOLgasm.

Food Rampage

Travelled down to Outram again for my Stress ECG test – to determine any anomalies with my heart palpitations.

Before and After that, I went on a food rampage.

Lunch was at Maxwell market, renowned for hosting several really good food stalls. I had Tian Tian chicken rice, which has one of the best chillis around. After which, I had the famous Goreng Pisang, Sweet Potato Balls with Peanut stuffing, Hum Chim Pang coated with sugar and "Tau Kua Ji".

It was only when I devoured up all the food that I realise that I was going to run on the threadmill as part of the Stress ECG test.

Noteworthy was the Hum Chim Pang. The stall lacked helpers, and customers had to stir-fry the hum chim pang as the owner threw the dough into the wok. It was a funny sight seeing your mother taking over from other customers to fry her own Hum Chim Pang.

After the exhausting ECG test, since I have not ran for several months, I proceeded to Zion Road since it was just 3 bus stops away.

I had the famous Char Kway Teow and not-so-superb Cheng Tng. The Char Kway Teow was full of lard and each bite was so blissful, yet sinful. Take caution that it was just two hours ago that I just had my lunch!

After that, I was so full and sleepy that I wasted the whole day away.

My stress ECG test looked something like this, except I was dressed in a blue robe -_-.

Today I was feeling really down as the graduation ceremony wasn't as good as anticipated. Still, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I'm finally free and liberated. Im feeling so great, ending school on such a note. Matters that should have been said long time ago, were finally said today.

Anyways, I shan't elaborate. Right now, I'm going to update you of the upcoming posts.

Itinerary for the US trip is in! And so far from what I've heard, we'll be going to Los Angeles aka el lay.

We'll also be visiting

Hollywood (omg I can't believe this is happening!!!)
Warner Bros studio which is inside Hollywood -.- (I heard we have a VIP pass, maybe you can catch me on Ellen LOL)
Dreamworks (duh! Excited, can't wait to see what goes on behind the scene in movies such as the fabulous monsters vs aliens)
UCLA (it's the closest we'll get to being in an Ivy League university!!!!)
Museums aka mega yawns
Factory Outlets (standard)
Disneyland (as usual)

and more of course. I'll be updating you guys when I get more info. I'm so excited!

bad, awful, dreadful day (just for emphasis) part 1

Supposed itinerary for today: health checkup @ NHC, collection of passport @ ICA, lunch @ army market (belgian waffles), haircut @ TPY

The actual itinerary was far off what I had planned.

I actually overslept for the first time in many years this morning, at around 9.10! I was supposed to wake up at 8.30 and leave house by 9. Therefore, I quickly chomped down my breakfast, freshened up and prepared for the day, and left the house at 9.40am. I decided to forsake the usual north-south line and took circle line -> north-east line and reached NHC at 10.45am. Not too bad considering the shuttle bus arrived just as I arrived at outram MRT station. Upon arriving, I was greeted by cheerful and polite staff, who directed me to the station I was supposed to be at. All was smooth till the ECG report came out and it was abnormal. Like wtf?! I've not experienced any heart pain before except the time when I dreamt I was drowning and woke up with my heart pumping so hard, and the time when I ate too fast. (many times :S) The doctor then told me I had to come back for further checkup as he could not diagnose why my ECG was abnormal. Which will set me back by $300, which was supposed to be waived by the government, and WILL BE. D: After leaving the room, I realised that the doctor had not signed the form I was supposed to return to the ns people. I approached a nurse (helpful again) and she went in and got in signed.

After that, I left for Lavender and collected my passport. When the passport was collected, I decided to call the ns people to check if it was possible to claim the money. Since my first appointment for the further checkup was tomorrow, they said I had to come down personally as mailing would be too slow. By that time, it was 2pm already. There was insufficient time for me to enjoy the belgian waffles. So off to redhill I went.

At this point, let me tell you how did I arrive at NHC, Lavender, and CMPB

1) Home to NHC: 410 -> Shun Fu -> Marymount MRT -> Serangoon MRT -> Outram MRT -> Shuttle Bus -> NHC
2) NHC to Lavender: -> Shuttle Bus -> Outram MRT -> Lavender MRT
3) Lavender to NS place -> Lavender MRT -> Red Hill MRT -> 132 -> Bukit Merah Interchange -> NS place
4) NS place to NHC -> CAB (not mentioned)
5) NHC to NS place -> CAB (not mentioned)
6) NS place to Home -> 167 (near to an hour ride) (not mentioned)

I will have to continue another day, as my dad is rushing me. But, the worst part has not arrived. Especially the cab part, and the staff at the ns place which was a stark contrast from the people at NHC. I thought both were considered civil servants, yet the service level is so far apart. (4) and (5) made me soooooo mad. Fuming mad. And I do not know who to be angry with, the doctor or the people at the ns place.

Be prepared for wall of text. – I really miss blogging.

Many thanks to Cybil Tan AKA Cybilly Tranny, I finally experienced what it was like to stay in a five-star hotel in Singapore aka Marina Mandarin. I gotta say though, so many things were wrong on so many levels.

First up, what's with the bringing of schoolwork to the hotel? Come on, were'nt we gathering to "celebrate" national's day? (haha we are patriotic!) When did it become a omg-the-a-levels-are-approaching-and-i-have-to-mug-whenever-i-have-spare-time thing? Okay, you may think I'm exaggerating. How about this – studying at the ominous hour of 12am?!! HELLO!!! I don't know if I should be impressed or terrified. Let the pictures above do the talking man.

Psst: Actually I brought lots of notes intending to study too LOL. But turns out I didn't miss it at all.

Secondly, there was only a bed. The room was meant for only two people. Being poor students – sans cybil, sans jingxian, sans elena, sans xiangyun – okay basically the minority are leaving in hdb, and being unwilling to pay for the hotel room stay, Cybil Tan then booked the hotel room and allowed us to "stayover". So 7 of us "cramped" into the room. Correction: it was a suite – 2 rooms! But there was only 1 king size bed room, fit for the king and queen. This meant only 2 could sleep on the bed. Unfortunately, I was not the one!!! How furious I was, not being able to share the bed with my prospective queen – elena foo the possible lesbian. Instead, I slept on the floor with the chillingly cold air-conditioner which I adjusted to 16 degrees earlier in the night. No one had the sense to increase the temperature till the morning when we woke up. JingXian suffered the most, having to smell me and Guan Yi's leg. Which was not pleasant to smell, or lick, I suppose. Woke up sneezing like mad.

Psssssssssssssssst: GUESS WHO WAS ON THE BED!!!! LOL. hint = threesome.

Thirdly, the fatso played a major prank on us. After we returned from our supper @ swensens, we returned to find many things missing – including the GC. -_- Since Cybil was still celebrating at the post-NDP parade party (where she participated), we assumed she wasn't back yet. Despite the fact that we saw some bags lying around, none of us really gave it much thought. All of us were frentic, since laptops and ipods were missing, but we didn't know what to do. We thought we didn't close the door properly when we exited for supper, or that the hotel staff had looted it, or…. many assumptions just cropped up into our minds. 20 minutes later, Cybil sauntered in with her NDP friend and revealed that she pranked us. ARGH, the exasperation we felt.

Still, as always, there's some positive parts to it.

PS: WHY AM I COMPLAINING SINCE I DIDN'T PAY A SINGLE CENT -.- typical singaporean :S

To summarise, Cybil gave me and Guanyi the complimentary breakfast buffet which had EXTREMELY limited selection and did not taste that well considering it was a five-star hotel, the company was awesome, watching Cybil bathe naked was pretty cool, the asswiper function in the loo was cool too, etc.

Oh and I just remembered. You may think we saw the fireworks. NO. We only saw the reflections off Swisotel!!! This was due to the fact switching to the other side of the hotel would incur Cybil another few hundred bucks.
